British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
