Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This incident is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was compelled to turn back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
